What is a VOLT? Why are eLearning modules called VOLTs?

VOLT stands for Visual Online Learning Tool. VOLT is Applied Learning's brand of eLearning module.

What value does a VOLT offer if I already have a Knowledge Map?

A VOLT can supplement the Knowledge Map experience by providing access to employees who may not be able to attend the Knowledge Map session. They also enhance the learning process by allowing employees access to materials that were presented in the Knowledge Map and reinforcing what was learned.

Can I have a VOLT developed if I haven't purchased a Knowledge Map?

Yes, you can. While the Knowledge Map/VOLT combination is the most complete solution that we offer, we can also offer a custom VOLT solution when eLearning alone is the best fit for your particular needs.

How will the VOLT be distributed to employees?

If your company has an existing LMS or CMS the VOLT can be packaged and distributed for access on that system. The VOLT can also be distributed on CD-ROM and run on individual employee systems.

How long does it take to complete a VOLT Session?

Each VOLT typically takes between 30 and 45 minutes to complete depending on the topics covered and the particular pace of each user. The benefit of a VOLT is that it allows users to complete the sessions at a time that is convenient for them and at a pace that they are most comfortable with.

How quickly can a VOLT be developed for my company?

The timeframe for developing a VOLT depends on the scope of the project and the complexity of the issues being addressed. It typically takes from 2-3 months to develop a series of 4 VOLTs. In some circumstances the development time may be accelerated to meet organizational needs.
